Floating (aka Sensory Deprivation) is the ideal antidote to the relentless sensory bombardment of our wired culture. Constant input (smart phones, computers, TV’s, noise, etc.) creates enormous stress on the mind and body. Accumulated stress can lead to many common ailments like anxiety, depression, chronic pain and insomnia and fatigue. Floating is the perfect way to discharge all forms of stress; you can find deep states of relaxation and calm. Even people who struggle to relax find it nearly impossible to resist the deeply calming support of a float tank.
Floating works by fully supporting your body in a super buoyant solution of water in a light proof and sound proof tank. The water has 850 lbs of epsom salt and is heated to skin temperature (93.5 degrees)! After a short time, the feeling of weightlessness and reduced sensory input quiets your brain and you easily slip into a deeply relaxed and meditative state. Experienced meditation practitioners often find that they can achieve deep states of meditation that usually takes days of retreat time.
Floating is remarkably safe and simple. You simply shower (we provide towels, all natural soaps, etc.), get in the tank, lie down and let yourself go–the tank does the work for you. The reduced sensory input gives your body and mind the space to release built up stress, anxiety and tension. For many people, this often leads to a deep sense of peace, well-being, and relaxation. The positive effects of floating can often last for several days after a float session.
